The commission is the administrative agency for the Arizona Crime Victim Compensation Fund. The commission designates one operational unit in each of 15 counties (currently the county attorney's office) to administer the fund subject to state statute and roles. FUNDING
The Victim Compensation Fund receives
4.6% of monies paid into the Criminal Justice
Enhancement Fund, which is financed by several
assessments and surcharges. The program receives
an annual VOCA grant.

Reporting period: 72 hours
Filing: 1 year
Exceptions: Exceptional circumstances
PROCEDURES
Victims apply to the board in the county
where the crime took place. The coordinator in
each county develops the case file, and each
county's board meets regularly to determine all
claims.
Appeals: The victim may appeal a decision
of the board to the board within 10 days. Fur-
ther appeal is filed with superior court in each
county under Rules of Administrative Procedure.
